Fun Stampers Journey Artful Fins 5-8

 It makes me think of a tropical vacation or a tiki hut! I started with a Cool Pool Stair Step Base and layered it with some retired paper from the Going Places collection.  Don't you just love how the Sweet Pear Doily Die looks like it could be a piece of coral?

 

 

Today's card was colored with Color Burst Pencils  #21, #24, #34.  Check out those sparkly scales of my fish!!! You can recreate this effect by covering your fish with Journey Glaze, and the sprinkling some Confetti Sparkle Elements Clear Sparkle on top.  I added some to all of my fish today. 

And if those scales weren't enough sparkle, I also added some of the Whip Cream Sparkle Tape over a thin strip of Catalina Splash cardstock!

Make it Monday: Sweet Slice and a Chance to Win!!!

Hello Creative Friends.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  I spent Saturday morning with my wonderful team for our monthly meeting. I had the pleasure of congratulating 2 of my local coaches on becoming Journey Leaders.   I get so excited when coaches promote!!!

2 for Tuesday: Hello Lovely

Today's 2 for Tuesday is featuring the set "Hello Lovely".  I chose one of the flowers and did a card in two different styles.

The first card is done in a vintage style.  I used Oatmeal Cookie CS, Pool Play CS, Bubble Gum CS, Butter Cream CS, and a piece of polka dot paper out of the Yummy Prints paper pack.
 

The next card uses the same flower and basically the same layout but looks totally different because of my color choices.  I used Bubble Gum CS, Sweet Berry CS, Sweet Pear CS, and Whip Cream CS. The patterned paper is from a retired Black and White set.

Technique Thursday: Ink Splat Background

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a fast and fun way to create a cool background that works for almost any style of card.

I started with a Whip Cream piece of cardstock.  I chose Bubble Gum ink, Bubble Gum Silk, and the "Ink Splat" AT-108 stamp.

I inked up my stamp and repeatedly stamped it on the cardstock.  Notice how I moved it around to get good coverage on the entire piece of cardstock.
 

Next I took the Bubble Gum Silk (make sure you shake it well so all of the sparkles are mixed up!) and tap it over your cardstock until you have the coverage you want.  I love how this background turned out!

Two for Tuesday: Favorite Peeps

Hi Everybody!  Today I am sharing 2 different cards I created using the Favorite Peeps set.  These cards couldn't be more different!!!

The first card is a whimsical step card.

Isn't it just stinking cute?  I used most of the eggs in the Favorite Peeps stamp set along with the matching dies in the Favorite Peeps die set.  I also used my brand new Border Details Die set to create the grass and the vines. I can already tell that I am going to get my money's worth out of this border set! 

The second card is a vintage/ shabby chic card.

 

Say what?!!! Yes, this is created using the the same Favorite Peeps set!  I choose to use only the eggs from the Favorite Peeps set for this card.  I stamped them using Cool Pool and Oatmeal Cookie. Totally different look by changing the colors and accessories!

I also used the Border Details die set on this card also.  I pulled out my Doily die - if you don't have this die yet, you "NEED" it!!!  I cut the Oatmeal Cookie doily in half to add some texture in the bottom of my card.  The flowers are made from the Spring Bloom Minis die.  Love how you can make them curl using our Bloom tool.  The patterned paper in the background is from the Vintage Paris paper pack.

In today's post I am sharing a vintage style card.  I have always loved to add distressing to cards, so when I saw the new Love Buds embellishments, I know exactly what I wanted to create with them!

I just love the Vintage Paris paper pack, so I don't know why I haven't used it more...and is pares so well with the Doily die!  Check out the Rhinestone button, be still my heart!!!  And the crochet flower.... what's not to love?!!!!

I think I might save this card for my 20th wedding aniversary this summer!!!

 I am in full in Valentine Mode here in my craft room!  Hearts and Sparkles everywhere!

 

Today I used a non traditional color combo, Bubble Gum and Cool Pool.  Don't you just love how they work together!  As you can see, I pulled out my Doily Die....I know, I am in love with it, but I just can't help myself!

 

I used another one of my favorite dies, the Bread Tag die.  If you throw parties or enjoy giving little goodies, this die is a must have!!! It is just perfect for creating little favor or goody bags.

 

 

Love the little Heart Sparkle Drop in the center of my layered hearts!!! And be still my beating heart, Bubble Gum Silk with Pink World sequins to glam it up even more!

Doily Heart Love

My love affair with doilies is in full swing!  Today I pulled out the Doily Heart ATS along with my favorite Doily Die for a sweet Valentine card.

 

I just love using traditional Red, Black and White for Valentines Cards.  It makes them look so elegant!

 

And our Special Celebration sequins gives it extra bit of sparkle!

Challenge Time

Hi everyone!  In today's post I will be sharing a card I made for the Creative Blooms  challenge page. Kerry runs  2 monthly challenges, one is a color challenge and the other is a sketch challenge.  I chose to combine both challenges this month.

The colors for this months challenge are Bubble Gum, Sweet Pear, Citrus Cooler, and Black Licorice. The Citrus Cooler was the hardest for me to work with.

I chose the Bubble Gum for my card base.  Next I pulled out a piece of Sweet Pear, my Linked Dots stamp, SS-0051 and my Sweet Pear ink pad.  I love how tone on tone stamping helps give depth to a card.
 

I die cut a doily out of Bubble Gum CS using the Doily die, DI-0105.  I also die cut 2 tags with  the Tag Set die, SR-0014 out of Citrus Cooler and Whip Cream CS.  I stamped one of the bird houses from my Sweet Home set, SS-0188 on the Whip Cream tag and also stamped the ric rack stamp out of the Stitched Borders set, SS-0077 in Black Licorice onto the Citrus Cooler tag.
 

I colored the bird house and heart with Fusion Blender and Bubble Gum reinker, added Journey Glaze, Journey Dparkle dust and a Sparkle heart to finish the card.
