Let's Eat Cake Birthday card
with Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Everyone needs a birthday card, so today I am sharing a clean and simple one I created using the Let's Eat Cake stamp set.  The image is one that I colored in my online class, Coloring Your Creative Journey using Fun Stampers Journey's Color Burst Pencils.

I just love this stamp set because it has so many fun and whimsical images that can be used for birthdays of all ages, and they all are very easy to color.  If you are thinking about buying a set of colored pencils, the Color Burst pencils are to die for!  They are so smooth and creamy which makes them easy to blend.  If you already have a set of Color Burst pencils and want to learn how to use them, my exclusive Coloring Your Creative Journey subscription class is an economical way to take your coloring skills to the next level.  I host a weekly live online class where you learn techniques and receive exclusive color swatch information.

Winter Holiday Step Card with Cindy Bristow

Winter Holiday Step Card
with Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today I wanted to share a simple but elegant card I made using the Winter Holiday stamp set and matching die.  This card would be perfect to give to a male co-worker to set on his desk!...with a little treat pack, of course.

I used my Accucut machine to cut the step card, so it really was easy.  I am planning to add step card blanks to my Etsy store, so leave a comment to encourage me to get on that!  My background is Whip Cream cardstock run through my platinum using the Cozy Knits embossing folder.  I then stamped the deer and trees with Clear Pigment ink onto Chambray Shirt cardstock and cut them out with the matching dies.  The large snowflake was cut using the Snow Blooms die.  I added Cotton Chambray Shirt ribbon,  Whip Cream Silk and snowflakes from my Holiday Elements sequin jar to complete the card.

Snapshot Frames Joy Christmas card by Cindy Bristow

Snapshot Frames Joy Christmas Card
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today I want to share a card I made using die cuts from the Snapshot Frames Die.  This die is one of my favorites because it has so many little dies in it for different holidays and seasons.

I also used the Heart-Felt die combined with the Cozy Knits embossing folder for my cable knit heart.  The shaker part of my card was created with my rectangle die, I placed the die over to one side of my rectangle, cut and then placed it down again overlapping part of the cut out to get a larger opening.  The patterned paper is from the Cozy Prints pack, make sure to look below for all of the links.

Cup of Happiness Christmas Card by Cindy Bristow

Cup of Happiness Christmas Card
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today I am sharing a card I created for the Split Coast stampers color challenge #714, Vanilla, Merlot and Under a Shady Spruce.  I used Fun Stampers Journey colors Butter Cream, Pomegranate Splash and Kiwi Slice.

For this challenge I chose to use one of the coffee cups and sentiments form the Coffee Helps stamp set and I stamped it in Pomegranate Splash ink.

I added shading to the cup using my Journey Color Burst pencils to make the coffee cup pop out of the card.  Don't you love the little sprig of greenery I added under the coffee cup to make it festive?  I also added texture to the background by embossing it with the Cozy Knit embossing folder.

Butterfly Dreams Mixed Media by Cindy Bristow

Butterfly Dreams Mixed Media
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today's share is a elegant Mixed Media block that I have had on my work space for over 2 weeks.  Sometimes you start a project and you get to a point where you're not sure what it needs and you walk away for a few days, weeks, sometimes months. That is what happened with this project.  I had the background layers all done, but was stumped on the focal point. Then while I was digging through one of my many stash drawers, I came across a sheet of filigree foiled butterflies... I can't even begin to tell you where I grabbed them at, some stamp show in Washington state would be my best guess, but it was exactly what I needed for this project.

See what I mean?  That gold butterfly was just the object I need to pair up with the gold embossed texture on my block.

Here are the links for all products used in this project:

Journey Splash Pencils  I used pencils #33 & #34

Merry Everything Stamp meets Special Day Tags Die by Cindy Bristow

Merry Everything Stamp meets Special Day Tags Die
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today I am sharing a card I created in my Coloring Your Creative Journey Subscription Group. Coloring Your Creative Journey is all about coloring with my favorite pencils ever, Journey Color Burst pencils.  These pencils are so smooth and creamy, you will think you went to heaven!  Ok, enough about the pencils and onto the card!

How cute is this deer?!!!  and check out the shaker elements!  That little tree die cut comes form the Special Day Tags Die set.  I have been playing with all of the different tags in this set, but none of my ideas worked, don't you hate that?  I mean, I just had to have this die, and then when I want to incorporate it into a card, I just couldn't make it work like I wanted.... that was until yesterday!  I think I might have been over thinking it.

Coffee Helps Shaker Card by Cindy Bristow

Coffee Helps Shaker Card
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Yesterday I shared a monochromatic Christmas card and found the processes really calming, so I decided to try another monochromatic card today.  This time I used the Coffee Helps stamp set.

I really am loving the Cozy Knit embossing folder, although the pictures don't do it justice.  After I embossed the Butter Cream panel, I grabbed my Heart Felt die and centered one of the smaller hearts in the middle to make the shaker card.  The shade of blue I chose for my ink is Beach Breeze.  The sequins inside the shaker are called Clear Sparkle, but they are really iridescent, so they pick up what ever color they are paired with which actually make them perfect for doing almost any shaker card.

Sparkle Trim in Cream and Grey by Cindy Bristow

Sparkle Trim in Cream and Grey
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today's creative share is a monochromatic Christmas card inspired by wardrobe perusing on Pinterest last night.  I have always loved those big cream colored fisherman sweaters and now the buffalo plaid that everyone is wearing has me swooning also.  That led me to the creation of this card.

I paired the sweater texture and buffalo plaid with the Sparkle Trim stamp set.  I must confess that this set has been in my stash for a complete year and I had not inked it up.  Now that I have inked it up, you might be seeing it a lot more!

Purple Serenity Mixed Media with Cindy Bristow

Purple Serenity Mixed Media
with Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today's share is a mixed media piece I am calling Purple Serenity because it brought me joy when I was creating it.

If you haven't tried mixed media yet, you really need to!  There are no rules and if you can paint it, stamp it, stencil it, or glue it down, it can be used in mixed media.  A few of the basic items I use with almost every piece I create are Gesso (for priming your surfaces), Modeling Paste (to add texture), Stencils, Stamps, Die cuts, Paper, Inks (both inkpads and liquids), Paints, small Wood or Metal pieces, Thread, Twine or Ribbon, and Sparkle... cause you know, a girl has to have sparkle!

Here is a list of products I use for this project.

House to Home trio (I used the medium house for this project)
Journey Color Splash Pencils I used pencil #30 and #33
wooden flourish
May Arts wrinkle ribbon
metallic thread
metal key hole

Merry Everything Stockings card with Cindy Bristow

Merry Everything Stockings card
with Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

This morning I would like to share a whimsical card we created yesterday in my online Coloring your Creative Journey Subscription group.  The subscription fee is $9.95 per month and we meet each Wednesday online to learn and practice using our Color Burst Pencils.

This month we are using the Merry Everything stamp set and 5 different color swatches to color it with.  I chose the stockings for yesterday's class.  We started by stamping the 3 stockings randomly on a 4 x 5-1/4 sheet of cardstock.  When you are creating a background image like this, make sure to rotate you stamps and to let some of the images hang off the paper.

These are the products I used to create this card:
