Autum Days

Hello Creative Friends,

Fall is officially on us and I wanted to share some fall colors today.  Today's card is created with a Fun Stampers Journey set called "Autumn Days".  It is one of my favorites in the FSJ large catalog.

The background of this fast and easy card is created with another of my favorite background stamps, Canvas Prints.  Isn't the texture it creates just amazing?!!!

 

I created the leaves by using daubers and various ink pads that I listed below to cover a piece of Buttercream cardstock.  Then I stamped my leaves and die cut them with the matching die.  Love that we have dies to match our stamps!!! and the bonus is if you purchase them together, you get a bundle price!

Can You Case It Challenge #119

Hello Creative Friends.

It's been a crazy week at my house, lots of appointments and a frenzy of activity getting ready for my son's high school graduation.  It feels so good to be able to sit and create.

The card I'm sharing today is for a challenge over on the Can You Case it Blog.  This week's challenge was to use Gold, White and Dark Blue in a card.

I embossed the smallest Dahlia from the "Dahlia Burst" set in gold randomly on a sheet of Whip Cream cardstock.  I stamped and embossed an extra one to fancy cut also.

I colored all of the images using Fun Stampers  Journey Re-inkers and Fusion Blender. I fancy cut the extra flower and popped it up over the center flower.  Next I sponged gold ink into the remaining white cardstock.

I layered the stamped cardstock into  Denim Days cardstock and added a strip of Catalina Splash ribbon wrapped with Journey Gold  Thread. I edged a tag with gold embossing and stamped You are wonderful on it.  The sentiment is from the "Text Happy" set.

Mini Make it Party

Hello Creative Friends.

Most Wednesdays I have a fun group of ladies come over to my home for a mini Make it Party. What's a Make it Party? It's a fun way to get your creative friends together to create a few projects. This week we are creating cards.

 This is one of the cards we made yesterday. Isn't it beautiful?  And I just love the message!  When you think about it, everyday is another chance to do things again.

Check out those Jewels!!! My friend Lori is came over today, so I made sure I include a few on the card- just so I didn't have to check her purse 😉  We added some Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust to the Butterfly for even more bling.

So, make sure you live each day as a second chance to Make Amazing Happen!

Doing what makes You Happy

Hello Creative friends.  Today's post is about doing what makes you happy... So right now I'm on the couch eating chips and playing a game on my phone because that's what  makes me happy.....Gotcha!!!!  Not really, I'm down in my creative space playing with ink and paper, but chips do sound pretty good right now!

You know how sometimes you just over think a card?  This was one of those cards.  I sat here staring at this set, Nautical Sketch,  for a long time, thinking about building a scene, or coloring it... And then it hit me... Bam!   Why make it complicated when the image itself is beautiful? 

So I did what makes me happy!  I stamped!!!  Plain and simple, but it makes a bold statement.  I stamped the fish in Cranberry Bliss first on the card and then a second time to cut out.  I then  wallpaper stamped the fish with Denim Days too finish the main panel. Layered it onto a Denim Days panel and then onto a Cranberry Bliss card.

The sentiment is from the Text Happy set and is stamped in Cranberry Bliss and layerd onto Denim Days.  I cut around the second Cranberry Bliss fish and popped it out for some dimension.

2 for Tuesday: Summer Garden

Hello Creative Friends!  I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend, I know I did.  I took a long weekend and spent it with my family.  I am refreshed and ready to spend some time being creative!

This week on 2 for Tuesday I am show casing the stamp set "Summer Garden". I absolutely love these roses!  The first card is one that I created for a customer  who ordered a wedding card.  She told me the bride loves blue and white.  

Love how the blue rose turned out!!! And all those pearls added to the "Heart You"embossing folder make my heart sing!  I hope that the bride and groom have a full and blessed marriage.

My second card is done using Rich Coral and Black Licorice cardstock.  The patterned paper is from my stash of the Treat Time prints, a Halloween paper pack.  I love this particular pattern and I only have a few sheets left.

I had an Ahhhh Haaa moment the other day when I watched Richard Garay's video using the Whip Cream re inker.  So I have been playing with it and using it in the roses.  I have a awesome video in the works to show you how I colored the roses.

Life is Beautiful

Hello Friends,  I have been trying to slow down and notice the little things in life that make me smile. 

 

One of those things is sitting on my back deck and watching the birds. My husband and I have been sitting out there most evenings and have even named one of the birds "Fred".  Fred is a plain sparrow, but he has personality!!!!  He is always the first to arrive, and actually comes to within  a foot or two of us looking for his meal.  He lives in our multi-unit bird house... he use to have the confirmed bachelor pad up top, but about a month ago we noticed he had moved down to apartment 1A and had started a family.  I guess Fred has slowed down to enjoy life also.

 

 This inspired me to create this ATC for a swap I am participating in.

 

 

I used my "Yummy Dots" embossing folder (EF-0010) to give my Pool Play cardstock some background texture.  Then I pulled out the "Sweet Home" stamp set (SS-0188).  I love the birdhouses in this set, they are super Cute!!!  I used my Copic markers to color the birdhouse.  After I fancy cut around the house, I stamped part of the flowers from the "Branch Out" stamp set (SS-0140).  All of the elements are popped up- love how things look popped up!  The sentiment is from the "Text Happy" set (SS-0188).

Take a Hike

Happy Wednesday Creative Friends!

Today I am sharing a card I made for masculine challenge.  I pulled out my Fun Stampers Journey Adventure Section Stamps to see which stamp sets I had available.  There are so many cool masculine sets available in the new catalog, it was hard to choose just one!

I ended up cutting a few of the stamps apart because I wanted to just use a section of the image.  Notice the mountain range?  That was one of the stamps I cut.... it had a sentiment attached and I just wanted the mountains!

I shadowed stamped the mountains in 3 different colors- Sweet Pear, Lemon Grass, and Kiwi Slice.  I love the 3-D look it gives to the card.  I also used a sentiment from the Text Happy stamp set,  https://shop.funstampersjourney.com/MemberToolsDotNet/ShoppingCartv3/ProductDetail.aspx?CatalogueID=212&ProductID=19360&PartyID=0&PartyGuestID=0&ReferringDealerID=344  .  I am in love with this sentiment set.  It has so many cool sayings- something for everything!

 

The last touch was the Hiker- I cut this stamp apart also, it has a cool set of boot prints I can think of a ton of other uses for.  I carried on the 3-D effect by stamping the mountains behind him also.
