Sophisticated Animal

Good morning Creative Friends.

How many of you buy a stamp set and have every intention of showing it all the love and attention it needs and then promptly put it in your stash and forget about it?  Come on, I know we all do this... so today's post is about one of those stamp sets, Sophisticated Animals SS-0300, by Fun Stampers Journey.

 

I wanted to use the animal heads right off the bat, but was a little intimidated by them at first so I used them to make a background for my first card.  Then I got brave and stamped the elephant head, mask it off and stamped the vest body with it.  I really wanted a saying that said "your an animal", but sorry to say there is not one (all though I told RG I totally needed one!)  Instead I used the saying "Let the adventure begin". 

The next card I created used the same set, but was totally in my comfort zone.  I mean, who doesn't like a sharp dressed man?  This would be perfect for the guy in your life, or for a invite for a girls night out?!!!!  I used my Striped Love background stamp, but didn't ink it up so it has a distressed "manly" look to it.

Christmas Trim

Hello Creative Friends.

I have another quick Christmas card to share today.  This one is made with the Christmas Trim stamp set that is available until December 31 while supplies last.

I started by taking a piece of Whip Cream cardstock and using the green out of the Rich Sorbet Pan Pastels, gentle swiped my cardstock with the green.  I added more of the color to the top of the piece of cardstock.  Next I stamped the tree with Black licorice ink and colored the trim with my Color Burst pencil # 3.  I then cut the tree out.

I used my Oval dies and cut a piece of my patterned paper from the Tis the Season paper pack.   The sparkly light effect in the background is made with Silver Silk.  Silks add just the right amount of glitz to any project!

Don't Sink

Hello Creative Friends!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed their Mother's Day festivities.  I had a quite weekend and enjoyed the sunshine that blessed us yesterday.

Today's card is a fun one.  I started with the brand new "Don't Sink" set for this cute card.
 

I stamped the float onto a piece of patterned paper from the Journey Bright Basic paper pack.  I chose to fancy cut him instead of using the matching die because I thought it looked better without the patterned border around this little guy.  The striped patterned paper is the reverse side of the paper I stamped him on.

 

 

I flicked Cool Pool silk into the base and oval die cut before I used a piece of the polka dot washi tape that comes in the "Be Cool" Journey tape set.

 I punched a scalloped oval to stamp the sentiment on, popped it up and added sequins for more sparkle.  The inside sentiment says "Don't Sink".  Perfect to send to a friend who is experiencing a little stress in their life.

A Happy Hello

Hello Creative Friends.

In today's  post, I am sharing one of the cards I created using the new Beach Sorriee stamp set.

Isn't this little guy so stinking cute?  I colored him using Fun Stampers Journey Reinkers and Fusion Blender solution.  

I stepped out of my comfort zone , it was just a baby step, but I did it, and used the Ball Chain stencil and Journey Modeling paste to get the dots on my background paper. Now that I have done it, I will definitely try it again!

2 for Tuesday: Hello Lovely

Today's 2 for Tuesday is featuring the set "Hello Lovely".  I chose one of the flowers and did a card in two different styles.

The first card is done in a vintage style.  I used Oatmeal Cookie CS, Pool Play CS, Bubble Gum CS, Butter Cream CS, and a piece of polka dot paper out of the Yummy Prints paper pack.
 

The next card uses the same flower and basically the same layout but looks totally different because of my color choices.  I used Bubble Gum CS, Sweet Berry CS, Sweet Pear CS, and Whip Cream CS. The patterned paper is from a retired Black and White set.
