Howdy!

Today we are going to learn how to make a Envelope Pocket.  This post contains affiliate links which means if you click on any of the links and purchase the product, I earn a small commission.

You will need a envelope, I used this Kraft envelope, and some scraps of old book pages or sheet music.

To start you will tuck the flap into the envelope and glue it down.

Next, ink the edges of your envelope with Vintage Photo Ink

Now you will tear some of your pages and glue them down to your envelope back.

After I finished gluing  the paper down, I grabbed my Gesso and painted a thin coat onto the envelope.  I left some blank spaces, but not much was left untouched.

Now it is time to grab some patterned papers.  I grabbed some ones with writing on them, flowers and butterflies, making sure that they all work with my color scheme.

You are going to tear our the images you want to use.  Ink your edges, and glue them down.  I use this type of craft glue.

Our next step is to add a little stamping.  I grabbed this Read to Me stamp by Prima because of the scale.  It has small writing and fits perfectly with the envelope size.  I stamped it with black ink.

I like how it looks layered on top of the collage layers.

After the ink was dry, I took my envelope over to my sewing machine and stitched around 3 sides.  If you don't have a sewing machine, you can stich it by hand or draw faux stitches on your envelope.

Now it is time to glue the envelope down.  I put glue on the 2 sides and bottom, making sure not to glue the top down.

I have glued it onto the papers I will be using on the front inside cover.  As you can see, I have added a strip of lace to the pocket also.
Because we have coffee stained our paper, I like to use mini clips to hold the glued pieces together for a few minutes to make sure they adhere well.

By leaving the opening at the top, You have an extra pocket to put more things in.
I am using this pocket on the inside cover of my journal.  I will make a few more of these.  I know one will also go on the back inside cover also

I hope you enjoyed this step by step on creating Envelope Pockets.  Please feel free to share it with your friends.
Thanks for stopping by,
Cindy
