Tutorial Thursday: Coloring Summer Garden

Hello Creative Friends!
Today I am sharing a video on how I colored one of the roses from this weeks 2 for Tuesday post.

I love to color and realized after watching Richard Garay's video on coloring the Tickled Pink Flamingo that I wasn't using all of the tools in my toolbox when coloring with Fun Stampers Journey Re-Inkers.  Looking back, I feel a tad silly... but then I realized that there might be other coaches that hadn't thought about the Whip Cream re-inker, so here is a 10 minute video on how to color the Rich Coral rose pictured above.

Sea Side Treasure

Hello Creative Friends!
My fab group of friends comes over today...love these ladies!!!  This week we are doing few nautical cards.

One if the sets we used was the Seaside Treasure set.  It brings back memories of sea shell hunting along the beach.

Can't you just feel the sun on your shoulders, the sand in your toes and the wind blowing through your hair?

Soon it will be warm enough to walk the beach barefoot, but until then I can daydream.

2 for Tuesday: Summer Garden

Hello Creative Friends!  I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend, I know I did.  I took a long weekend and spent it with my family.  I am refreshed and ready to spend some time being creative!

This week on 2 for Tuesday I am show casing the stamp set "Summer Garden". I absolutely love these roses!  The first card is one that I created for a customer  who ordered a wedding card.  She told me the bride loves blue and white.

Love how the blue rose turned out!!! And all those pearls added to the "Heart You"embossing folder make my heart sing!  I hope that the bride and groom have a full and blessed marriage.

My second card is done using Rich Coral and Black Licorice cardstock.  The patterned paper is from my stash of the Treat Time prints, a Halloween paper pack.  I love this particular pattern and I only have a few sheets left.

I had an Ahhhh Haaa moment the other day when I watched Richard Garay's video using the Whip Cream re inker.  So I have been playing with it and using it in the roses.  I have a awesome video in the works to show you how I colored the roses.

Thanks for stopping by,

Tutorial Thursday: Dahlia Burst with Masking Technique

Hello Creative Friends!

Today's card technique is masking.  Masking is when you have an image in the forground and other images that appear to be behind it.

I used the "Dahlia Burst" set to demonstrate this technique.  I love using masking on flowers because it makes me feel like I am in a garden that is in full bloom.

I made a short video on how to do masking.

I hope you enjoy it!

2 for Tuesday: Dino-Mite

Hello Creative Friends!  It's time for 2 for Tuesday where I take 1 stamp set and show you 2 different cards I created with it.  This week's stamp set is "Dino-Mite"

The first card is for a boy's birthday.  You could carry on the theme and actually create an entire birthday celebration with it.  Can't you just see little treat bags with this adorable T-Rex on them?

But who said girls wouldn't like a dinosaur card?  My second card is created for the girl who is into dinosaurs and wants her birthday party to be dinosaur themed.  I can see a bunch of little girls running around with pink capes that have dinosaur spikes sewn down the back of them!

How cute is this?  By pairing Watermelon Fusion with Sweet Pear and Kiwi Slice , the whole set goes from a little boy theme to a girl theme.

You are Wonderful

Hello friends, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  Did you know that Fun Stampers Journey has a sale going on this month?  It is called the Lucky Me sale.  One of the things that is on sale are the dies located from page 179-187 in our main catalog!!!
I have used several of those dies in this card.
The "Doily" die, the "Treat Label" die and the "Spring Blooms Mini" die are all included in the Lucky Me sale, which means they are 20% off till March 31!!

Several people have asked how I make the flowers for my cards.  I have made a short video on the process I use when I form flowers, it is by no way exclusive to me, & in fact is a combination of several other people's methods.  I hope you enjoy it.

2 for Tuesday: Hello Lovely

Today's 2 for Tuesday is featuring the set "Hello Lovely".  I chose one of the flowers and did a card in two different styles.

The first card is done in a vintage style.  I used Oatmeal Cookie CS, Pool Play CS, Bubble Gum CS, Butter Cream CS, and a piece of polka dot paper out of the Yummy Prints paper pack.

The next card uses the same flower and basically the same layout but looks totally different because of my color choices.  I used Bubble Gum CS, Sweet Berry CS, Sweet Pear CS, and Whip Cream CS. The patterned paper is from a retired Black and White set.

Make it Monday: Hope Rises

Happy Monday everyone!  Today's post features a stamp set out of the Spring Mini Catalog.  If you have been eyeballing anything in this catalog, you have until March 31 to order, after that the items are no longer available.

After I stamped the tulip vase image from the "Hope Rises" set and colored it, I cut it out so I could layer it onto a Cool Pool "Fancy Label" die cut.  I cut out another "Fancy Label" die, but this time I used Orange Creamcicle cardstock.  I stamped the Orange Creamcicle die with ink of the same color  and my "Canvas Prints" background stamp.  Isn't it awesome how it gives just a little texture to the die cut?!!!

Next I grabbed my "Ink Splat" stamp and my Lavender Fusion IP and added 3 splats to my card base.  I cut a lacy border strip using the "Border Details" die and adhered to my card base.  I also used some White Liner tape to adhere a piece  of "Tangerine Fusion Crimp" ribbon onto the card base.

I love doing loopy bows with our Journey Thread, just wrap it around 4 fingers, grab it in the middle and tie it with a seperate thread! And how cute is that "Clear Blooms Accent" flower with the purple candy dot to finish off this card?  The  sentiment is from the "P.S. Greetings" set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Technique Thursday: Ink Splat Background

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a fast and fun way to create a cool background that works for almost any style of card.

I started with a Whip Cream piece of cardstock.  I chose Bubble Gum ink, Bubble Gum Silk, and the "Ink Splat" AT-108 stamp.

I inked up my stamp and repeatedly stamped it on the cardstock.  Notice how I moved it around to get good coverage on the entire piece of cardstock.

Next I took the Bubble Gum Silk (make sure you shake it well so all of the sparkles are mixed up!) and tap it over your cardstock until you have the coverage you want.  I love how this background turned out!

I used this background in this cute Easter card that I am selling in my Etsy shop.  You can hop over there Here

2 for Tuesday: Star Bright

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today's  2 for Tuesday featured stamp set is "Star Bright".   It coordinates with the "Star-Dom" die set.
1 stamp set, 2 totally different cards!

The first card today is a fast, clean and simple card that is perfect to give a word of encouragement in. The A2 base is Pineapple Smoothie CS, layered with a Rich Coral  CS 4 x 5-1/4 panel.  Next is the Whip Cream CS layer cut to 3-3/4 x 5.  I stamped the 2 smallest stars using Pineapple Smoothie, Orange Creamcicle and Rich Coral ink pads.  The sentiment is stamped with Black Licorice. To make the card pop, I covered all of the stars in Journey Glaze and a sprinkle of Sparkle Dust.

My second card for today is all about patterns and layers.  I started with an A2 base of Oatmeal Cookie CS layered with a Pool Play CS panel.  Next I added another layer of patterned cardstock from the "Vintage Paris" paper pack.  I then added 3 banners, the bottom one is silver polka dot vellum from the "Vellum Designer Prints" pack.  I followed that with banners made of  Pool Play and a blue polka dot from the "Winter Fresh Prints" pack.

I stamped the large striped star with "Journey Silver" ink onto a Oatmeal Cookie CS scrap and cut it out.  I also used the striped star to stamp a piece of Pool Play CS to layer the sentiment on.

The sentiment is stamped on Buttercream CS and embossed with "Journey Silver Embossing Powder".  I used "Tinsel Trim" to make loops beneath my star, layered a Free Bloom Benefit (got to love it when you get paid to shop!)  "Shooting Star Element" and a Pearl to complete the card.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Make it Monday: Be Happy

Happy Monday Everyone!
Ever wonder how those perfect Mom's get it all done and make it look Fabulous?... Well this project is fast, easy, and Amazing! Imagine showing up to your child's school, activity or birthday party with these totally Fabulous treats!!! You would be that Mom- the one we all want to be like.... And it's easy!

I started with a pack of Fun Stampers Journey "Spring Treat Bags", put a store bought sugar cookie in it , and folded the top over.  Pretty easy so far, right?  Then I die cut assorted colors of FSJ cardstock using  the "Fancy Label die". ( and all of FSJ's colors coordinate, so you don't even have to worry about that!)

Next I used my "Beach Breeze" ink pad and the flower from the "Be Happy" stamp set to stamp 3 flower on a Whip Cream Fancy Label die cut.  I also stamped a flower on a separate piece of cardstock and cut out.  I stamped the sentiment from "Be Happy" in "Black Licorice" at the bottom of the tag.

That flower  I cut out is pop dotted up and I added a Sparkle Dot- because everyone needs a little bling!  3 wraps of the "Beach Breeze Thread" around my fingers, a glue dot to stick it to the back of my tag and it's almost ready...  Grab a "Jumbo Wooden Clothespin", clip the bag shut & and you just turned into Wonder Mom!!!

Isn't Everyone Irish?

Hello friends!

Today I am sharing a card from my regular Wednesday in home class.

I stamped the "Irish On" ATS with Whip Cream ink onto Kiwi Slice cardstock. Sprinkled Journey White embossing powder over it and heat embossed it.  I repeated this process and cut out just the center section.  Using Journey Foam Squares, I popped this section up.

Next I ran a piece if Whip Cream card stock through my Journey Grand using the "Beach Towel" embossing folder. I used my Gold Silk to sprinkle gold drops over the entire Whip Cream piece.... Because you need gold on a St Patrick's day card!

I wanted some gold embellishments, so I grabbed  wooden Star Frame Elements (just one of the many Free Bloom Benefits you receive with every $50 purchase).  I inked them up with Clear Pigment ink and dipped them in Journey Gold embossing powder and zapped them with the heat gun...Wowza- can you say gold?!!  I just adore how they turned out!

Thanks for stopping by,
~Cindy~

Two for Tuesday: Favorite Peeps

Hi Everybody!  Today I am sharing 2 different cards I created using the Favorite Peeps set.  These cards couldn't be more different!!!
The first card is a whimsical step card.

Isn't it just stinking cute?  I used most of the eggs in the Favorite Peeps stamp set along with the matching dies in the Favorite Peeps die set.  I also used my brand new Border Details Die set to create the grass and the vines. I can already tell that I am going to get my money's worth out of this border set!

The second card is a vintage/ shabby chic card.

Say what?!!! Yes, this is created using the the same Favorite Peeps set!  I choose to use only the eggs from the Favorite Peeps set for this card.  I stamped them using Cool Pool and Oatmeal Cookie. Totally different look by changing the colors and accessories!

I also used the Border Details die set on this card also.  I pulled out my Doily die - if you don't have this die yet, you "NEED" it!!!  I cut the Oatmeal Cookie doily in half to add some texture in the bottom of my card.  The flowers are made from the Spring Bloom Minis die.  Love how you can make them curl using our Bloom tool.  The patterned paper in the background is from the Vintage Paris paper pack.

Thanks for stopping by!
