Snow Blooms Holiday D'ecor by Cindy Bristow

Snow Blooms Holiday Décor
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Holiday gift crafting is in full steam at my house this week, so I wanted to share a great décor piece  that I created for a hostess gift.

I created it using the House to Home trio of wooden blocks.  I love how these wooden blocks come in 3 different sizes so that you can either make a coordinated home décor piece or use them individually like I did in this project.
To prep my project I covered the entire wood piece with Gesso.  If you are new to mixed media, gesso is a primer, kind of like when you prime your walls for painting.  It helps the other mediums stick to the surface better or in this case, it seals the wood surface so it doesn't suck up all the paint.  After the gesso dried I added a coat of Cool Pool Acrylic Paint.   The dots in the background are made using a stencil and Modeling Paste.
To create my snowflakes, I used a White Liner sheet, which is a full sheet of double sided adhesive, along with Whip Cream cardstock and cut one of each of the Snow Bloom dies.  Once I had cut the snowflakes out, I carefully peeled off one side of the White Liner sheet and added Sparkle dust to each of them.  I also used the smallest die from the Snow Blooms set to cut one snowflake out to Cool Pool cardstock.  I layered all of the snowflakes making sure to off set  each of them.  The final touch was to add a large pearl to the center and wrap the block with ribbon and a bow.

Howdy!

I wanted to share one more card I made using the Princess Wishes stamp set and the Triple Tear die set.  I am having so much fun coloring these princess in different dress colors, but I promise to play with a different stamp set tomorrow!

I started with a base card base of Limeade Splash and stamped it with the Lace background stamp and Clear Pigment ink.  This time I decided to add some Silver Embossing powder and heat embossed it.  I also embossed the sentiment with Silver Embossing powder.  I die cut the Triple Tear die out of Mirror Silver cardstock and Whip Cream cardstock.

The castle and princess are stamped with Black Licorice ink onto Whip Cream cardstock.  I colored them with my Color Burst Pencils.  I used the following pencil numbers:
2, 8, 9, 21, 22, 25, 28, 34, 38, 40, 41, 42, 46, and 47.

I added a double bow made from the Special Day Organza ribbon.

Howdy!

Today I wanted to share another darling card I created using the Princess Wishes stamp set and the Triple Tear die.

Isn't she adorable?!!!  I started out with a Pool Play card base that I had stamped the Lace Background stamp and Clear Pigment ink.  Then I die cut the Triple Tear die out of Mirrored Gold cardstock, Whip Cream cardstock, and Pool Play cardstock.
I stamped the princess and crown onto Whip Cream paper and colored her with Color Burst pencils # 5,8,20,25,28,34, and 42.  I chose to cut off her tall hat and replace it with the  crown.
I embellished the card with light blue velvet ribbon from May Arts and Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust.

Christmas Nutcracker Magic
by Cindy Bristow

Howdy!

Today I wanted to share a little Christmas magic with a card using the Nutcracker Suite stamp set.  This set comes loaded with 17 fun stamps.  I used the nutcracker and one of the sentiments.

My card base is Candy Apple Red cardstock.  I layered  Kiwi Slice cardstock and Whip Cream cardstock on top of it.  On my Whip Cream panel, I stamped the smallest tree from the Sparkle Trim stamp set  first in Green Olive, and then twice more in Fresh Forest.  Next I stamped and colored my nutcracker using Color Burst pencils.  I added some Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust for embellishment.

Make a Wish Princess Birthday Card

Howdy!

How about a fun shaker card for today's post?  I used the Princess Wishes Stamp set to create this birthday card.

Isn't she precious?  There are 11 fun images in in the Princess Wishes stamp set.  I colored the princess and the castle with my Color Burst Pencils.  I used pencil numbers 5,8,16,26,34,36,39,41,42.and 43.  To create the shaker card I used the largest oval from the Journey Oval die set and cut my Whip Cream, Bubble Gum and Clear View Sheet.  Then I used the die 1 size down to cut the center out of the middle of the Bubble Gum oval.  FSJ's Foam Tape makes putting shaker cards so easy!  My shaker is filled with Pink World sequins, Blue Skies sequins, and Journey Sparkle cuts.
