Technique Tuesday: Awesome You using Colored Pencils and Dark Cardstock

Hello Creative Friends

I know we all love to color, we color flowers, cute animals, people.... but we always seem to use white paper as our background.  Today I want to show you how to use your colored pencils on darker cardstock.  This technique works on most any darker colored cardstock... Oatmeal Cookie (kraft color), River Stone, Rock Candy, or Black Licorice cardstocks.   Don't you just love how the color pops on the darker Rock Candy background?!!

Here is the technique video showing you exactly how I created this card.  I used the Awesome You stamp set, Rock Candy cardstock, Whip Cream ink pad, white embossing powder, and Journey Color Burst pencils 16, 27,and 48 if you would like to color along.
