Challenge Time

Hi everyone!  In today's post I will be sharing a card I made for the Creative Blooms  challenge page. Kerry runs  2 monthly challenges, one is a color challenge and the other is a sketch challenge.  I chose to combine both challenges this month.

The colors for this months challenge are Bubble Gum, Sweet Pear, Citrus Cooler, and Black Licorice. The Citrus Cooler was the hardest for me to work with.

I chose the Bubble Gum for my card base.  Next I pulled out a piece of Sweet Pear, my Linked Dots stamp, SS-0051 and my Sweet Pear ink pad.  I love how tone on tone stamping helps give depth to a card.

I die cut a doily out of Bubble Gum CS using the Doily die, DI-0105.  I also die cut 2 tags with  the Tag Set die, SR-0014 out of Citrus Cooler and Whip Cream CS.  I stamped one of the bird houses from my Sweet Home set, SS-0188 on the Whip Cream tag and also stamped the ric rack stamp out of the Stitched Borders set, SS-0077 in Black Licorice onto the Citrus Cooler tag.

I colored the bird house and heart with Fusion Blender and Bubble Gum reinker, added Journey Glaze, Journey Dparkle dust and a Sparkle heart to finish the card.

Kerry's challenge is open to everyone, so stop by and enter a card!  If you are interested in any of the products I used, please visit my Fun Stampers Journey page.

Going Places

Happy Monday!   I think I just heard a groan from everyone.... That's why I chose to work with some happy colors today.

Bright shades of purple and yellows to get Monday started on the right foot.  I started with the Brush Strokes stamp set, SS-0205 and Pretty Amethyst ink pad.  I used the large circle to stamp with.

Then using the same circle, I repeated the process with Lavender Fusion ink.  I changed to the small circle to fill in with Pretty Pansy and Pineapple Smoothie.

Next I stamped the lets go places stamp from the Capture the Moment set, SS-0224 with Pretty Pansy and colored the flowers with Fusion Blender and Pineapple Smoothie reinkers.

I finished the card off with Lavender Fusion satin ribbon, Pineapple Smoothie gingham ribbon, Journey Twine and a sparkle dot.

Hope you have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Count Your Blessings

I was looking at Instagram yesterday and saw a card that inspired me to try a technique that I haven't used in a while-shadow stamping with white ink.

So I pulled out some Oatmeal Cookie CS, my Whip Cream ink pad, and the Give Thanks stamp set, SS-0041.

I stamped the Count your blessings sentiment  in the middle to get my spacing right, then I stamped all 3 leaves on the set around the sentiment.  Make sure you let the Whip Cream ink dry completely.

Next I pulled out my Pumpkin Bread, Green Olive and Cranberry Bliss to stamp the leaves just slightly off the original image.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Oatmeal Cookie with Cranberry Bliss ink and also stamped a leaf with Pumpkin Bread ink.  I then used the coordinating die, Thxgiving-DI-0024 to cut them out.

I finished the card off by splashing Cranberry Bliss Silk on the image and layering onto Cranberry Bliss CS and a card Base of Oatmeal Cookie.  The button is out of FSJ's wooden accent embellishments and I painted it with Cranberry Bliss silk.

Thanks for stopping by.

Zombie!!!

I have another step by step Halloween card to share today.

Isn't it stinking cute???  I started with a piece if velum- yes, velum is back!!! And pulled out my Journey Grand machine and a new die- Spider Web, DI-0107.

I used my Bloom Tool to clean out all the little pieces and then adhered it to some Pretty Pansy CS that I had embossed with  the Ink Splash embossing folder, EF-0008 and inked with Whip Cream ink.

I stamped the Zombie image from the Trick or Treat set- SS-0084.

I colored him using my Fusion Blender and the following reinkers.  Sweet Pear, Tangerine Fusion, Lemon Grass, Oatmeal Cookie, Pretty Amethyst, Bubble Gum, and Pineapple Smoothie.  I also stamped the pumpkin from the same set and colored him.  I die cut the Zombie out with the matching die, but hand cut the pumpkin out because I didn't want a border.

I used the tag punch on a scrap of Lemon Grass paper.  Notice how I inked the edges to make it look scary?

I finished the card off by adding Journey glaze and sparkle dust into the spider web.  You can find all of the products used on my website,

Scene Building

Today I am sharing a simple technique in scene building.
At first glance, this card might look a bit hard to create, but it really isn't!  I combined several different stamp sets to create a one of a kind scene.  I started with the moon and cat from the Which Witch set SS-0088-( it has a matching die also!!!!, DI-0069, that I used for the cat). I stamped both of them on a Whip Cream 3-3/4 x5 piece of CS.

I also added the tree from the Monster Mash set SS-0058.  Then I sponged Banana Cream ink, Pretty Amethyst ink, Lavender Fusion ink, and Green Olive too create the ground and sky.

I stamped, die cut and colored the pumpkins from Ghostly Haunts SS-0179 to complete the scene.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember that the 20% off all Halloween and Fall Stamps is good thru October 31!

Kiss me

I spent Saturday at the Calvert County Hospice Crop helping raise money for a wonderful cause.  I spent time visiting with ladies that I haven't seen in a long time, and really enjoyed the time.

I did get a little bit done...
This is the card I designed and created for an October swap I am participating in.

I started out by stamping multiple holly images with Fun Stampers Journey's Mistletoe Kiss stamp, At-0150 and coloring them with my Fusion Blender and Candy Apple reinker.
My card base is Kiwi Slice layered with a Cranberry Bliss cardstock I ran thru my Journey Grand using the Yummy Dots embossing folder, EF-0010.  I stamped the sentiment in Kiwi Slice on a Whipped Cream oval cut with the -Journey Ovals die, DI-0042.  The patterned paper is out of our holiday mini album and is called Winter Fresh prints, PP-0018.
I popped the oval and the holly up, added Journey glaze and Journey Sparkle Cuts to the holly.  To finish it off I looped some Lemongrass thread under the oval and added 3 Candy Apple Sparkle elements.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving Box

I don't know about you but growing up Thanksgiving was a pretty formal affair.  We put down a cloth table cover ( not the usual vinyl one), brought out the good dishes and wine glasses and dressed up and the whole family sat around the table.  Now that my kids are grown (well all but the last one) and we do not live close to family, we have relaxed a bit at my house.  Who am I kidding... we spend the day in sweats and eat in front of the TV.... but in honor of my childhood memories and the hopes we move closer to family soon, I created this cute box to use as a table setting.

I mean, how stinking cute would a table be with these on everyone's plates?  I think I would fill them with some chocolate... because after you have stuffed yourself with turkey and pumpkin pie, you really need some chocolate!

Alright, now I am hungry... Gobble Gobble!

Fall Loving

I just love the feel of Fall.  I love the smell in the air- although, I'm not really sure it's a smell.... but it is definitely something.  It brings back memories of jumping in leaf piles, carving pumpkins, Friday night football games....just a whole ton of memories coming flooding in when I get that first hint of fall.

This background stamp is one of those things that makes me feel like fall.  It's called Playful Leaves SS-0234.  I have been using it quite a bit for my fall cards and classes, but I think it will be a year round favorite of mine.  I inked it up with Sweet Pear and kissed it with Oatmeal Cookie and Pumpkin Bread.  Totally love the way it turned out.

The pumpkins are from the Gobble Gobble set SS-0209, and I stamped them on a scrap of patterned paper from the Journey Neutrals paper pack.  I used the Snap Shot Frames die for the heart, fall, leaf and frame elements.

Go jump in a pile of leafs!!!!

Nothing Better then Blue Jeans!

Don't you just love a comfy pair of blue jeans?  - you know the ones... a little faded, soft from just the right amount of washings.  Me too!!!  I think these mice have found a pair like that to play in.

This is one of the cards we are making today at my Copic class.  We used the Hanging Jeans House Mouse Stamp by Stampedouse.  To give the card just a little more dimension, I cut the pocket out and popped it out.

Hope you have a wonderful day "Hanging Out"

Grateful Heart

I've been thinking about how blessed my life has been for the past few weeks.  I have a wonderful husband who loves me and lets me follow my dreams, 3 great kids who are awesome, 4 beautiful grandbabies, and a whole host of friends who make me laugh and support me.  Do I want more?  Yes, but I am grateful for what I have and need to make sure I show my gratitude each and every day.  I have challenged myself to tell someone everyday how I am thankful they are in my life and what they mean to me.

I love the colors on this card, Pomegranate Splash, Banana Cream, Hazelnut Blend, Citrus Cooler and  touch of Gold Silk.

I used the Brush Stroke Set SS-0205 to create the background and to "color" my leaves.  You can find this set and the rest of the items used here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Halloween Are you Kitten me?

Today I am sharing a Halloween card made with the Fun Stampers Journey stamp called "Feed Me" AT-0160.  This stamp comes free with a 50.00 purchase,.... that is the only way to get it!  I decided to pull mine out and give it a Halloween twist.

Isn't he just too stinking cute?  I love his c-attitude!  I started out by stamping him on Whip Cream cardstock and coloring him with Copics.  I used the following colors:  C3, C5, C7, E93, YG63, Y24, and V17.

His hat is from the Creepy Crawly stamp set, SS-0218.    The moon is a circle die cut that I inked with Banana Cream and Orange Creamcicle ink pads.  I ran the Lavender Fusion card base thru my Journey Grand with the Ink Splash Embossing Folder, EF-0008.  The patterned paper is from the Treat Time Print paper pad, PP-0016.

I stamped the crow with Black Licorice ink and masked off a circle to sponge the moon in.  I used Banana Cream ink for the moon.  The rest of the background was sponged with Pretty Amethyst, Lavender Fusion, and Denim Days ink pads.

Creepy Crawly Treat Box

Today I'm sharing a cute Halloween Treat Box.

I used the Creep Crawly Stamp set on this project and guess what???? It's on SALE this month!!!!  If you need help placing a order, contact me and I can help.

I started with a sheet of Tangerine Fusion 8.5x11 cardstock and my Treat Box die DI-0006.  I made sure to position the die as close to the end of the cardstock because I wanted to use the left over for the backing piece on the box.  Then I pulled out my Tagged Pocket die DI-0001 and centered it on my scrap of Tangerine Fusion and ran it thru my Journey Grand machine.  Next I pulled out a scrap of Black Licorice cardstock and die cut it with my Spider Web die DI-0107.
Assemble the Treat box leaving the opening on the long end.  Adhere your Spider Web to the front of your box.

Now you are going to take your Tag Die cut and position one of the Journey Piercing Circle dies DI-0039 on the center curve of your pocket. ( Notice how I didn't do such a good job of centering it) You can adhere it to the back of your Treat Box.  There will be a small piece sticking out of the bottom, I thought it made it look a little like a grave marker, so I left it.

I then stamped the smallest web from the Creep Crawly set SS-0218 with Orange Creamcicle ink and then overstamped the creep crawly in Black Licorice ink onto Whip Cream cardstock.  Using a 1" circle punch I punched it out and popped it up on the top of the tag.

Stamp the largest spider with Black Licorice onto Whip Cream cardstock.  Fussy cut him out.  Pop him onto his web.  As a finishing touch, I added googley eyes, journey glaze and glitter.

I'm pretty sure the neighborhood kids will enjoy this treat!

Coffee Love

Today I am sharing a card I made awhile back.  It started off as a Artist Trading Card swap and then morphed into a cute note card.

I pulled out my Fun Stampers Journey reinkers to color the coffee cup.  I used Oatmeal Cookie and Kiwi Slice reinkers.  Love how it looks like a mini Starbucks cup.

Love how the Gold Silk Splashes play off of the Heart of Gold Element.  Did you know that the Heart of Gold Elements are part of the Journey Rewards program?  For every $50 dollars of Fun Stampers Journey product you buy, you can choose an item out of the Rewards program!!! I love getting rewarded for shopping!
